Poptropica Wild West Island

Poptropica Wild West Island is the most recently released island quest in the popular online game Poptropica. It follows the release of Cryptids Island and became available first to paid members in February 2010. In March, everyone will get to play it.

In Wild West Island, your adventure begins in the small town of Dusty Gulch. You learn how to tame a horse of your own and find out that this town and all the neighboring ones are being terrorized by the notorious outlaw Mustachio Grande and his gang of bandits. Later, you discover that even the marshal is so afraid of him that he gives up his badge--and turns it over to you. Then, it's up to you to bring Mustachio Grande to justice.

Before Wild West Island launched, there was a sneak peek available for everyone to play. The sneak peek of Wild West Island features a fun mini-game called Round 'em Up. In this game, you're riding a horse in an overhead view and your goal is to rope and return three cattle to your ranch in two and a half minutes. You move around with the mouse and use the left mouse button to speed up your horse. The spacebar is used to control the lasso. Press it once to twirl it and then a second time to throw it. It will go in whatever direction it is pointing when you press the spacebar a second time.

When you capture the cattle, it will first try to run away. Follow it on your horse to keep the distance close and then when it stops resisting it will then follow you. You can then lead it back inside the pen at your ranch. Repeat twice to get all three cattle and win the prize.

There are seven prizes and they change every two days. You need to come back and win the game every two days over the next two weeks to collect all seven prizes.

There are seven prizes in total in the Round 'em Up game. After every two days, one will expire. You'll need to come back often and win the game to collect all seven prizes. Paid Members in Poptropica get a bonus item when they win the game for the first time. It's the Wild West Hero outfit.
