Poptropica Steamworks Island
78Steamworks Island is the fourteenth full island released on the popular online game Poptropica when it is launched. It is available first to paid members of Poptropica via the early access program. It will become available for everyone else to play on September 9. It is the first island since the wildly popular Poptropica Skullduggery Island was released earlier this year.
Very few details of the plot for the new island adventure have been released, but the following description recently appeared on the official Poptropica site:
The silence of empty streets welcomes you. Metal and machines fill the lonely halls, and a growing mystery lurks behind a shroud of steam. Can you uncover what happened to the inhabitants of this ancient island? Gear up for a steam-powered adventure you will never forget!

Poptropica Cheats for Steamworks
The basic idea of Steamworks Island is that you'll explore an ancient island that has been overgrown and overrun with plants. You'll use various retro steam-powered devices in your journey. The creators have posted concept art and screenshots of a device called the multi-tool which you will use several times. They have also heavily hinted that you'll operate a "mech" robot at some point in the adventure. See the official promo screenshot to see what it will look like.
We also know that some nefarious plant monster appears in this island, again through screenshots and blog posts from the official Poptropica blog.

The Robot
One of the characters you will encounter in Steamworks Island is a small robot. Very little is known about the robot, but he (or she?) has been featured prominently in the Poptropica Blog in recent weeks through sneak peeks and screenshots. We know that the robot is a little timid and curls up in a ball until you kick or tap him. The robot also appears briefly in the official trailer and seems to be following the main character. So it sounds like the robot is a friendly robot. The rumor is that the robot's name is Sprocket, but no one knows for certain.
The Plant Monster
The story of Steamworks Island is that all the people have disappeared, leaving behind machinery and robots. And it also seems that some not-so-friendly plant life has emerged. There are a few different plant monsters seen in sneak peek screenshots posted on the official Poptropica blog and in the trailer video.
The Mech
One of the coolest parts of Steamworks Island is towards the end when you get to ride in a Mech. In previous islands like Counterfeit, there were short cut scenes where you would use a vehicle, but in Steamworks you get to use the Mech for a considerable part of the quest. Before you can ride in it, you need to locate two missing parts: the steam motor and the mech crank.
Once you locate these two items, you'll install them on the Mech inside of Sully's shop and be off and running. You'll use the Mech to defeat most of the plant monsters including the "boss" monsters at the very end of the quest.

IMPOSSIBLE!!! i can only get into the mayors office and the sully place. i cant open the crab either! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you have to get the robot "sprocket" from sully's garage and go to the hub where the underground door is hot and use the crab there. Sprocket will help you by lifting the robot crab and let it fall on the door...breaking the glass of the crab and letting the water cool the door handle....then you can go down.
ok so now i think i found that crank thing in the vine area, but i cant reach it!!

For people asking about the weed wacker: you can't use it until you finish building the mech. When you have, get in, then click items, select it and press 'put on'. You can then use the space bar to use it. It can clear those plants in the entrance to the right, and hit most enemies.
You can find the mech crank by leaving Zach's room by a different exit to the one you went in by. It's in the residential building, so you'll nee the residential key.
You can leave the island by returning to where you started, and clicking on the yellow airship thing. The map will show you where the 'blimp' is.

@ scantak to if you dont have the rubber mallet give back the key for living quaters in the maitennence and the cannon will stop, if you dont have the rubber mallet go to sullys parphenelia and go to the junk pile if you see a rubber mallet click on it and go back to green house and take the key back then go higher in the green house and looks for a crack in the glass stand in front of the crack go to inventory go to the rubber mallet then press use ;D hope u read this cuz i beat all of steamworks :D ;) :D

u cant get past the water cannon, near the top left is a weak section of glass with cracks, and you use the rubber mallet to break it and escape
p.s. if u dont have the rubber mallet, put the key back in the maintenance closet and go all the way back to sully's place with the junk box and get the mallet

i could get past the first 2 rreeeaalllyyy quickly :D
although some people jump on their heads, i think this way is easier:
for the first one i walk up to it, being as far awayas i can while it face is still completely visible. then just duck down until it sticks its neck out. as soon as its neck goes back in,stand back up and shoot in its mouth. u have to do that quickly because the mouth only stays open for a little bit after its neck goes back in. note the mouth wont be open if it gets you. You have to shoot the mouth three times.
for the second monster, do the same thing EXCEPT you wont stay down the whole time. be a little bit away, but still be able to see the head and 2 shooters. use your herbicide gun thing and shoot the seeds the monster is shooting (they are shot alternately) then when you see the monster is about to attack, duck, shoot the mouth, and continue shooting seeds. Continue this pattern until you shoot the mouth 3 times.

If you don't have the Haunted House then go to the bottom of the place next to the place where you save the people. Then climb a bit and go to the right and fall down. You exit and find yourself in the Gear Alley. Go all the way to the right until you get to the blimp, and exit.

you have to get the robot "sprocket" from sully's garage and go to the hub where the underground door is hot and use the crab there. Sprocket will help you by lifting the robot crab and let it fall on the door...breaking the glass of the crab and letting the water cool the door handle....then you can go down.

For people asking about the weed wacker: you can't use it until you finish building the mech. When you have, get in, then click items, select it and press 'put on'. You can then use the space bar to use it. It can clear those plants in the entrance to the right, and hit most enemies.
You can find the mech crank by leaving Zach's room by a different exit to the one you went in by. It's in the residential building, so you'll nee the residential key.
You can leave the island by returning to where you started, and clicking on the yellow airship thing. The map will show you where the 'blimp' is.

Its on the other side of the bridge. Once you get the right battery key, the bridge will go down an the bulldozer is on a ledge thinggy, but to make it drop, push all of the controller levers all the way down.

To leave the island, try clicking on the Alvin and the Chipmunks thingamajig on the side and then exiting it. You end up in Early Poptropica and the blimp is right there. Hope this helps :D

You can try leaving the island by going to the poptropica store and getting a haunted mansion (It's free) Click on it to visit it and then you'll go there, just go back the way you came (It will say travel) and you can go to another island. Hope it works!

Tough Parts in Steamworks
Some of the challenges and puzzles on Steamworks Island can be very difficult to solve. Steamworks Island is one of the hardest islands every released on Poptropica. Here is a very short guide to some of the hardest parts on the island.
The Hot Hatch
At the beginning of the game you'll find a hatch in the Hub area that is glowing red and hot to the touch. If you try to click on it you will be knocked back because it is so hot. The only way to cool it is to find some water. You'll get what you need from the little robot near the living quarters in Gear Alley. This robot crab has a dome with water in it that can cool the hatch off so that you can get inside. But you'll also need help from Sprocket, your robot companion, who can lift the robot crab high in the air and drop him on the hatch, breaking his glass dome and releasing the water to cool it off. It sounds terrible and mean, but everyone ends up ok. Once you have both Sprocket and the robot crab, return to the hatch and then click on the robot crab in your backpack. Then click the use button and Sprocket will offer to help out.
